Elizabeth Margaret McConnell of Elbow, SK, age 85 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side.

Liz was predeceased by her parents Matt and Mary Sekulich; husband Robert (Bob) McConnell; brothers Daniel (Bud) Sekulich, Ken Sekulich; infant sister Gloria; granddaughter Mchale Busch and great grandson Noah McConnell.

Liz is survived by her loving family son, Bob (Karla) McConnell and daughter, Ginny McConnell; grandchildren and great grandchildren Greg (Stephanie) McConnell, Hudson and Claire, James (Christine) McConnell, Oliver, Adriana McConnell, Ryan, Mark and Kelsey Kuzyk, and Cody McConnell; brother Garry (Janie) Sekulich; sisters Donna Jauschnigg and Deanna (Don) Truman. As well as nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Liz was born on December 21, 1937, at Bladworth, SK. She attended Zid School near Kenaston, Dundurn School and Girvin School. In 1952 at the age of 15, Liz worked as a housekeeper for the Carmen Jose family near Simpson, SK. In 1953, Liz attended Marvel Hairdressing School in Saskatoon.

On July 1, 1959, Liz married Robert (Bob) McConnell and they resided in Girvin until 1969 when they moved to Elbow.  Liz worked as a hairdresser and later became owner of the SGI office until her retirement.

Liz (Nana) loved her family very much and enjoyed when everyone came to visit her for day visits, weekend stays and family reunions. Nana's grandchildren spent their summers in Elbow where they made many memories going to the lake and rodeo. Nana kept them all in line and ensured they all had fun together during the summer holidays.

Liz was a quick-witted, straight forward, honest individual with a great sense of humour – always had a joke to tell and a story to reminisce. Liz enjoyed her front yard flowers, doing puzzles in the winter, reading, and loved when friends would stop by for a visit and cup of coffee. Liz had a heart of gold and always ended a phone call with “I Love You”.

A family and friends graveside service will take place at Elbow at a later date.
