GARTH ORVAL MAY
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Orval May on August 30, 2023, at the age of 85. Orval was born to Anthony and Loretta May. He is predeceased by his parents; wife Marion; brothers Lorne, Gerry, Mervyn, Don, Keith (Joe); brother-in-law Merlin Waller: grandson Jordan. He will be sadly missed by his children Garth (Charlene), Sharon and Les; grandchildren Destiny (Taylor), Wyatt, Katie (Rick and his son Lincoln), Ryan and a great granddaughter Katrina; sisters Ruth Bathgate and Elaine Waller; sister in law Gloria May. Orval grew up on the farm north of Marquis and attended Barton School. He took plumbing training in Weyburn, where he worked for a short term at Punnichy and then to Wolseley until the early 90’s. He took up farming in 1976, moving the family to the farm south of Moose Jaw in 1978 and farmed until 2021. When his health deteriorated, he moved to Providence Place. The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Place, Edgar Hall for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heath and Stroke Foundation. A private family service will take place at a later date. In living memory of Orval, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd.
