We said goodbye to our mom, aunt, and friend, Vivian Lazurca on Sunday July 3, 2022, at 5:45pm after several days in palliative care. She was born August 2, 1935, and at 86 was the last of her generation. Vivian was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Emile Wynandts; four brothers, Alan; Lorne; Allie; Harvey; six sisters, Hattie; Eileen; Joyce; Shiela; Ina, and Della. She is reunited with her husband Ted Lazurca, and her daughters Carrie and Marie (Gary). Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory is her daughter Bonnie (Scott); grandson Dorian; granddaughter Damara; three great grandchildren Jayda; Devyn; and Wyatt; as well as many nieces, nephews and sister-in-laws Vicki; Judy (Del) and Diana. Her friends are far and wide of all ages and genders, there has never been anyone she has met that she could not find good in. Vivian loved people, had a huge heart, and faith in the general goodness of mankind. She always found the positive in any situation, and always made lemonade from the lemons in life. Vivian was quick to laugh, and slow to anger. She also had a huge capacity to love and lend a helping hand. She was an avid gardener, cat lover, sports fan, music lover and a voracious reader. Dementia gradually robbed her of her favourite things, leaving only her love of music and enjoyment of people, even though she didn’t know who they were.

The family would like to acknowledge the care and dedication the staff and management of Santa Maria Care Home who cared for her the past 13 years. The caregivers were like her second family, and many called her “mama” and always commented on her infectious laugh.

A Celebration of her Life will take place on Thursday August 4, 2022, at 1:30 PM at W.J. Jones and Son Funeral Services, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw with Della Ferguson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moose Jaw or Regina Humane Society. In living memory of Vivian, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.jonesparkview.com (Obituaries).
