DAVID ALLAN LAWRENCE

December 28th, 1975 – March 28th, 2020

David Allan Lawrence, aged 44 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away Saturday, March 28th, 2020.  He was predeceased by his father, Art Lawrence.  David is survived by his wife, Melissa Lawrence; parents, Roy and Evelyn Wenman; and brother, Steven Lawrence.  David had a great sense of humour and enjoyed his time spent as a member of the Moose Jaw Lions Club.  He loved to bowl and play cards, and was an avid watcher of Star Trek.  He also loved his hobbies of re-constructing train sets and collecting DC and Marvel Collectables.  Very charismatic and kind-hearted, Dave was well suited to his job as a care aide and was loved dearly by his brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, as well as many, many others.  After battling kidney failure for more than four years, and the selfless donation of Evelyn’s kidney, a very stubborn and determined man fought with everything in him against his diabetic neuropathy, adapting to life with his new kidney, and surpassed multiple doctors predicted life expectancy by 14 years!  Even with his lack of eyesight, Dave returned to school and received a certificate in the field of massage therapy.  He will be loved and missed by all who knew him!  A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Joel Goodnough will officiate and a private family interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 1-2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
