Doug “Kwazzy” Kwan of Moose Jaw passed away on April 8, 2024 at the age of 63. Doug moved to Moose Jaw from Hong Kong in 1973. He graduated from Peacock High School and worked at Safeway for over 40 years, retiring five years ago. He was admired and loved by all those who he met, it seemed everyone knew Doug. Doug’s passion was his family, especially his mom. He enjoyed fishing, cars and spending time with friends. He is predeceased by his father Kee Sheong Kwan. He will be sadly missed by his mother Yee Mei Yung Kwan; sisters Mei Kwan, Alice Kwan, Goretti Lafond, Linda Kwan, Sandy Lai; brother in law Frank Lafond, Yun Lai; nephews and nieces David Chi, Harold Chi, Michael Lafond, Danielle Lafond, Brandon Lai, Shannon Lai, Stephen Lai; great nephews and nieces Juliette Chi, Landon Chi, Haley Chi, Megan Chi, Chloe Lafond, Isabelle Lafond; aunt Christina Chow and Peter Chow and the Chow family. A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:30 am at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Doug will be laid to rest beside his father at Rosedale Cemetery. n living memory of Doug, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd.
