VIVIAN KLIMEK

It is with profound sadness, that the family of Vivian Klimek (Fayant), announce that she gracefully and peacefully left our world, on August 28, 2020, after a valiant fight with myelodysplastic syndrome; having had her loving husband, and her children; loyal, at her bedside. Mom was born (to John Desjarlais and Josephine Fayant), in Indian Head on April 24, 1951— lovingly raised by Alfred and Jean Fayant (Mawmaw et Dawdee) in “The Valley.” Once she grew her stubborn bone, she left on her life journey spending her early years figuring out the ways of the world, with her bold and venturesome sisters by her side (and with her overprotective brothers in tow). In 1970, she started her own family, and courageously raised her children with an appropriate amount of discipline and an overabundance of love. It would be fair to say that she gave birth to seven… but she was a motherly figure to many more than that. And she was also a loving wife, a thoughtful friend, a giving sister, a generous Mawren & adventurous Koohkoum, and most would say: the “favorite” aunt. Her door was always open, no matter how many were already inside. And she would always prepare a meal, no matter how bare her cupboards were. And if you needed to talk coffee was put on, no matter the hour; no one was ever turned away. Before retirement, she spent 27 years as a Nurse’s Aide, caring for the residents of Valley View Center, in Moose Jaw SK. She was adored by the residents and always a good time for those who worked alongside her. Her spare time was spent: cooking, cooking and more cooking, going for the big dig at Sally’s, kickin’ butt at crib, crafting things for ANY & EVERY reason (far, far too many crafts to even name), yacking on the phone, scratching scratchies that her “Chicken” would get her, hitting garage sales, and ki-yie’ing around in the Valley (which is where her heart stayed), all while listening and jigging to honky-tonk music. She is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Jean Fayant, many siblings from her bio-blended family, numerous other family members, and countless friends. She is survived and will sorely be missed by her loving husband Robert Klimek, and by her children Elizabeth (Jan) McDaniel & family, Ronald Fayant (Colleen) & family, Kimberley Fayant (TJ McDonough) & family, Misty Fayant & family, Nicole Fayant & family, Alena Fayant & family. She is also survived by numerous siblings including those gained through her wonderful marriage, countless other family members, and an abundance of friends. And without prejudice, she would have liked named: Karen Bailey & family, Darlene Murray & family, Joy Day & family, and Linda Boudreau & family. To the attending staff of the ICU at the DR F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital: thank you does not begin to express our gratitude with how you treated our “precious fighter” with dignity and grace. In keeping with the wishes of her loving husband and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, her memorial will take place in the spring (and will be announced at a later date).  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Metis Society of Saskatchewan, 2121 Airport Dr #209, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6W5. In living memory of Vivian, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com or www.parkviewfuneralchapel.ca  (Obituaries). Dayna Chamberlain, Funeral Director.
