It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and husband, Edwin George Kettlewell on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Edwin was born on December 30th, 1949 in Moose Jaw, SK. He graced our lives with his guidance and big heart that he shared with anyone in need. He was predeceased by his parents, Keith and Berniece Kettlewell; as well as by his infant sister, Doris in 1951. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley; children: Kimberley (Clayton) Kettlewell, Shelly (Steven) May, and Lindsey (Darcy) Kettlewell; and grandchildren: Rhett, Kennedy (Shelly), Camryn (Kimberley), and Bernie (Lindsey). Edwin was raised and spent his entire life in Brownlee, SK. He worked for his father Keith at Butte Farm Equipment from 1965-1968 in Central Butte, SK. After that he went to work for his father at Brownlee Farm Equipment until he took it over in 1978 with his brother David. Edwin carried on the tradition of Brownlee Farm Equipment from when it first opened in 1930 by his grandfather Claire, spanning 3 generations of Kettlewells, for a duration of 87 years. Edwin retired in 2017 after owning Brownlee Farm Equipment for just shy of 40 years. He was known far and wide and was well respected in the community as well as in the agriculture industry. Edwin’s favourite past times included fishing, hunting, ski-dooing, restoring cars, attending car races, spending time at the lake with his family, and his happy hours at the new shop with friends. He was an amazing human being and his influence was felt throughout the community and region. The sight of him driving his truck around checking crops will be missed, as well as his brutally honest free advice. A Celebration of Edwin’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK and will be officiated by our dear family friend Cheryl Thul, with a time of fellowship to follow. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to https://youtube.com/live/ovkBSHZ42w0. A final happy hour in honour of Edwin will be held from 4:00-8:30 p.m. at the Heritage Inn. Please think of your favourite memories or stories about Edwin and share them with us that day. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
