Maxine Jones (Sanderson)

It is with sadness we announce the death of Maxine Jones on April 6, 2022, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Ray in 2002, her parents Florence and George Sanderson; siblings Elmer (Rose) Sanderson, Hazel (Roy) Mohr, Dorothy (Chris) Christiansen, Jean (Orville) Ennis, Pauline (Ross) Barber, Mabel (Les) Hibbs; nephews Wayne Sanderson, Terry Christiansen, Keith Barber, John Burton and by daughter-in-law Joanne Jones. Surviving is her son Rod; daughter Linda (George) Miller and three special granddaughters Carla and Kristine Jones and Katherine Miller. Also surviving are nephews Neal (Avona) and Dale (Sharon) Christiansen and niece Shirley Burton.

Maxine was born December 23, 1927, in Moose Jaw and resided here all her life. She attended Prince Arthur School, Technical High School, and started working at the age of 16 for A. E. Martin Real Estate followed by employment at Prairie Bag Co. and 23 years for Westcan Bulk Transport Ltd., from where she retired in 1989.

Maxine led a healthy and active life with her many friends and family. She enjoyed playing sports and watching Ray play soft and hard ball in their younger years. She also enjoyed years of 10 pin bowling and time at Regina Beach with members of the Jones family. Maxine enjoyed travelling and made many memories, especially with longtime friend Gerry Kobylanski.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 1:00pm at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. The family is requesting face masks to be worn and will be provided.
