Floyd Milton Johnson, resident of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 in the Moose Jaw Extendicare Special Care Home at the age of 82 years.

Floyd was born in Grande Prairie, AB and grew up on the family farm North of Beaverlodge, AB. He attended school in both Hythe and Beaverlodge, and after high school Floyd married Carol Ventress (divorced). They had two children - Floyd Wayne (1963) and Kenneth Troy (1965). In the early days, Floyd earned a living as a licensed automotive mechanic, which lead to the family settling in Fort St. John, BC (1968-1977). When Floyd made a career change, the family moved to Rocky Mountain House, AB where he opened an auto-body shop.

Floyd's love of the outdoors and hunting manifested and lead him to get his guiding license so he could access the foothills. He had a horse camp between the Ram Rivers West of Rocky Mountain House and would have gladly spent all his free time there. Never one to be pigeon-holed and not afraid to alter course, Floyd had numerous vocations in Central Alberta including a windshield glass business, heavy equipment sales, a dry-cleaning business, and finally a window blind cleaning service until he retired. Floyd met Linda Arams while both were living in Red Deer, AB and fell deeply in love. They married in 1998 and were inseparable after that. After his retirement, they eventually moved to Central Butte, SK (2007) and later Moose Jaw, SK. They spent summers on the golf course together and winters were filled with curling, reading Louis Lamour, and decorating for Christmas, which was Linda's specialty.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillian Johnson; and brother, Harley Johnson. Floyd is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Wayne (Carol - deceased) Johnson of Grande Prairie, AB and Ken Johnson of Edmonton, AB; Linda's children, Eugene (Kim) Arams of Marquis, SK and Jason (Suzanne) Arams of Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Lori (Ken) Kokosha of Fairview, AB, Amy (Tim) Nash of Lantz, NS, Devin Arams (Taylor) of Regina, SK, and Brendin Arams of Saskatoon, SK; and great-grandchildren: Kyle, Connor and Anna Kokosha, and Caleb and Kali Nash. In keeping with Floyd’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Floyd’s name may be made to Parkinson Canada, 2103 Airport Dr #110B, Saskatoon, SK  S7L 6W2.
