HOLDAL George Arthur Holdal, aged 85 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Friday, April 17th, 2020. George was born August 23rd, 1934 to George and Josie Holdal of Rabbit Creek, SK. The youngest of 9 children, he grew up in Kyle, SK and then Moose Jaw. George worked on the CP Rail as a Telegraph Linesman and worked freight out of Moose Jaw. He also was a fireman for the CPR. George met Edna Lois Rowell in Moose Jaw and they married on November 3rd, 1953. Together, they raised three children: Debbie, Brian and Alan. He then went to work for Trans Canada Pipeline at Caron, SK for 13 years, transferring to the Moosomin Station 25 to work as a Supervisor for 17 years, then retiring to Moose Jaw with Lois. He was predeceased by his son, Brian Holdal; siblings: Elmer (Katie) Anderson, Ida (Ray) Thompson, Alice (John) Moen, Olga (Wilson) Allen, Alice (Hugh) Allen, Elvira Holdal, and Doris (Harry) Spratt. George is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Deborah (Harlan) Throssell and their children Michael (Jennifer) Throssell (Elijah, Izaak, Hava, Karina), Wayne (Sharon) Throssell (Caleb and Graham), Tracy (Scott) Hooper (Kayla), Brian’s daughter, Jennifer (Tyrel) Irwin (Ella), Allan (Patti) Holdal and their children Chloe (Cameron) Young and Angie Holdal; as well as many nieces and nephews.
