Edna Lois Holdal, aged 88 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 at Parkway Lodge in Weyburn, SK. Lois was born on April 18th, 1933 at Mortlach, SK to Herbert and Bessie Rowell. She grew up on a farm with cows, sheep and horses. Lois was the youngest of four – brother, Arthur and sisters, Reva and Betty. She met and married George Arthur Holdal on November 3rd, 1953. Together they raised three children: Deborah, Brian and Alan.
She was predeceased by her son, Brian Holdal; husband, George Holdal; and siblings: Arthur Rowell, Reva (Den) Harrison, and Betty (Bill) Dreger. Lois is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Harlon) Throssell and their children Michael (Jennifer) Throssell (Elijah, Izaak, Hava, Karina), Wayne (Sharon) Throssell (Caleb, Graham), Tracy (Scott) Hooper (Kayla); Brian’s daughter, Jennifer (Tyrel) Irwin, (Ella); son, Alan (Patti) Holdal and their children Chloe (Cameron) Young and Angie (Ben) Ward; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in Rosedale Cemetery with fellowship to follow in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A Time of Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lois’ name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
