LLOYD JOHN HICKS
1940 -2021
It is with great sadness that we announce that Lloyd John Hicks passed away on March 2nd, 2021 at 80 years old. Lloyd was the oldest of 5 children born to Lawrence and Ruth Hicks. Lloyd was born in Parkbeg on March 7, 1940. He attended Edgehill school and then went to high school in Mortlach. He also attended STI in Moose Jaw and many other classes throughout his career. He married Wilma Brewer on Nov 16, 1963 and they had 2 children, Leah and Troy. Lloyd worked for TransCanada Pipelines and Great Lakes Gas and continued to farm with his Dad and brothers. After he retired from the pipelines he continued to farm and was able to do a great many things that interested him. He always had a great love of travel and was always interested in exploring new places. His love of farming lead him to a trip to Sudan in order to help teach farming techniques. He was an Amsoil dealer for many years and attended many conventions all over the US and Canada. He especially loved to visit Minnesota to see his 4 granddaughters and celebrate all their special days and enjoy their company. Lloyd is predeceased by his wife, Wilma, and recently his brother Danny and his sister Donna. Lloyd is survived by his children Leah(Eric) Ortiz and their daughters, Ebony, Maya, Sienna and Brynn, and Troy Hicks, his sisters, Donna(Sandy-deceased) Currie and their children Tracy (Rob) Kolsza – children Ayla(Ethan), Taniel and Teague, and Trevor (Sara) Currie – their children CJ, Keelyn, Addisyn, Linda (Ron) Locke – their children Chris (Jackie) Locke – their children Rebecca and Felicity, Jenn (Chika) Okafor – their children Tyler, Faith and William, Martin and his daughter Emily, his brothers Doug(Betty) Hicks – their children, Carla (Dave) Hicks, Dana (Gilles) Lajoie – their children Dominic and Gabriel and Lyndon(Lisa) and their daughter Remi and Danny(deceased) Irene and their children Kurtis (Celine) Hicks – their children Bryce and Levi and Veronica(Brad) Doenz – their children Jordy and Branson. Also remembered are his many, many friends, coworkers, and neighbors throughout the years. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 8th, 2021 at 1:30pm with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating.
