On behalf of our family, it is with peace in our hearts that we announce the gentle passing of Ronald George Halstrom on April 9, 2023.

Ron was born in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan, on October 1, 1937. Ron moved with his family to Moose Jaw in 1951. He worked with his father in the farm implement business for almost 30 years. He also worked at Rosewood Housing, Scott Ford, and Western Dodge.

Ron married the love of his life, Eleanor Rowe, February 28, 1958, and together they raised four children in Moose Jaw. Later, Ron and Eleanor enjoyed many years living at the South Shore of Buffalo Pound Lake as well as spent time at their seasonal cabin at North Shore.

Ron, a natural extrovert, had a true passion for people and enjoying life. He and Eleanor travelled with friends, loved playing cards, dancing, singing, playing the drums, horseshoes, wagon trains, fishing, hunting, golf, and ski trips.

The brotherhood of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club and Masons was an integral part of his life. Also, a great "tinkerer" he loved to spend time in his garage coming up with creative ways to fix things. He deeply loved his family and his pets.

Ron was predeceased by his loving wife, Eleanor; parents Leila and George Halstrom; sisters Margaret Willson and Mildred Gibbs; in-laws Marion and Percy Rowe, George Willson, Ken Gibbs, and Jim Robertson.

Ron is survived by his children Debbie (Jim) Martin, Rhonda (John) Kirkness, Tim (Lorna), Jeff (Steve Karges); his grandchildren Jordon, Lanae, Sam, Ellen, Jeffrey, Zoe; great grandchildren Avery, Maxwell, and Lawson; as well as his sisters-in-law Donna Robertson and Betty Ellis.

A special thank you to the caring staff at Moose Jaw Special Care Home (Extendicare) as well as to his best friend, Bump Hudson, who provided friendship and much support, especially in the past 9.5 years since Eleanor's passing.

The family will gather for a celebration of life this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's name to the WaWa Patient Transportation Fund c/o Moose Jaw Shrine Club, 1767 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK, S6J 1L6.

In living memory of Ronald, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.jonesparkview.com (Obituaries). Dayna Chamberlain- Funeral Director
