Mildred Joan From (“Millie”) of Moose Jaw, SK, peacefully entered the presence of her Saviour on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the age of ninety years. She was predeceased by her husband, Lenard; parents, Marvin and Edith; sister, Elizabeth; and infant daughter, Carolyn. Millie is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Ken); children: Joel (Beckie), Barbara (Jonathan), Wesley (Pamela), and Derek (Melissa); as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Millie was born on April 25, 1933 at Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. At the age of thirteen, she gave her heart to the Lord Jesus. After graduating from High School, she worked for an insurance company in New York City for approximately five years. Sensing a calling for Christian service, she enroled at Moody Bible Institute and then Columbia Bible College in South Carolina.

At Columbia, she met Lenard From. After their marriage on June 13, 1959, they moved to southern Manitoba, where Len soon accepted a call to the pastorate in Pierson, Manitoba.

In August 1962, the family moved to Caronport, Saskatchewan. Her life as a young mother revolved around her family, where she diligently cared for them and faithfully fulfilled her main calling: teaching and bringing up her children to know and love the Lord. For many years, Millie taught Sunday School, led Pioneer Girls, and ladies’ Bible studies. In later years, she owned and operated an insurance office and served as the administrator for the Village of Caronport. She loved the Lord, the Bible, her native land, and her family. Millie and Len lived at Caronport for nearly sixty years until they moved into a retirement home in Moose Jaw in April 2022.

A Celebration of Millie’s Life will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.
