We are sad to announce that Mona Lee (Flood) Deschamps, born March 15th, 1945, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on February 24, 2024. During her 79 years of life, she always displayed strength, generosity, and positivity. She lived every moment to the fullest and would always go out of her way to help others.

Mona was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed painting, doing crafts, and spending time with family, friends and especially loved being with her grandchildren. Mona’s positive outlook on life allowed her to make friends everywhere she went. During her younger years she ran her own daycare, worked as an office administrator, volunteered with several community groups, and was known as the mom who would help any kid in need.

Mona dedicated much of her life to serving God in many different sectors of the church. For many years she was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League, part of the church choir, taught Sunday School, and helped prepare many children for their first communion.

Mona was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Marni, and her brothers, Jim and Ted Flood. She is survived by her husband, Jacques, of 50 years, sons, Denis (Jenna), Patrick (Sara), daughter, Nicole (David), and grandchildren, Dominic, Maxim, Morrigan, Lucas, Sam, Alain, and Marcus. She will be reuniting her granddaughter Ada in Heaven.

Mona’s family wish to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Moose Jaw home care and palliative care as they played a key role in allowing Mona to remain at home as she wished. A service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 at Church of Our Lady. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mona’s name.
