CHHOKAR
Gian Kaur Chhokar, aged 97 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, May 24th, 2020. Gian Kaur was born in India and lived there until January, 1976, when she moved to Moose Jaw with her loving husband, Nasib Singh Chhokar and son, Sam, to live with her family. While in Canada she raised five grandsons and one granddaughter and all of her great grandchildren. Gian’s greatest joy was to be with her family. Gian Kaur is predeceased by her husband, Nasib Singh Chhokar; brothers, Prakash Singh and Gian Singh and sisters: Prakash Kaur, Charan Kaur and Nachhatter Chhokar. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Santokh (Harbans) and Surjit (Kamaljit); daughter, Surinder (Joga) Singh; grandchildren: Jagjit (Bhawarjit) Bahadar, Jaspal (Amandeep), Gurjeet (Sukhdeep), Jaswant (Rita), Amritpal (Khyati) and Sunjit (Amandeep Anita) and all the great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Giani Darshan Singh officiating. All are welcome. Due to Covid-19, only 10 people will be allowed in at one time. Please practice social distancing inside and outside. Bhog will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gurudwara Sahib Regina at 3905 Princess Drive, Regina, Sk. Flowers are gratefully declined, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Gian Chhokar’s name may be made to Gurudwara Sahib Regina.
