André Gilbert Boisvert

André Gilbert Boisvert was born November 17th, 1952, to Sam and Louise Boisvert. He was born and raised in the small town of Willow Bunch along with his 7 siblings: Ida, Angèle, his twin Paul, Madeleine, Vivian, Gérald and Robert. Growing up, André had a very close relationship with his siblings, who were always a significant presence in his life right up to his last hours.

André married the love of his life, Elza Lenius, on June 25th, 1977. They were blessed with 3 children Erin, Jessica and Ted. The couple took over the family farm in Willow Bunch in 1977. In 1985 André decided to go to University where he obtained a degree in Engineering. The family lived in Saskatoon and farmed in Willow Bunch in the summer. In 1992, the family moved back to Willow Bunch and André began working part time with Crop Insurance, and retired as Field Supervisor in Weyburn in 2020.

André was known as a quiet man with all the answers. He read alot and even in his last days had an amazing memory. He loved to travel, and he and Elza spent most of their marriage having great adventures around the world. His favourite was a boat trip down the Canal Medi in France with some of his family. They teased him that he was a sailor in a previous life, as he was so involved in the locks and getting the boat in and out. He wore a smile the whole trip.

Camping was his passion, he liked meeting new people and exploring new places, but he enjoyed the annual camping trip with his children and grandchildren the most.

André leaves to grieve his wife of 46 years Elza, his children Erin Boisvert of Moose Jaw, Jessica (Darren) Fitzpatrick of Ogema and Ted Boisvert of Montreal. And his wonderful grandchildren Delaney and Charles Fitzpatrick. His brothers and sisters Ida (Lon) Monea, Angèle (Richard Ares) Boisvert, Paul (Elyett) Boisvert, Madeleine (Wayne) Thorhaug, Vivian Boisvert and Robert (Debbie) Boisvert. His brother and sister-in-law’s Jeannette (Jerry) Sernecky and Richard (Terry) Lenius as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Louise and brother Gérald as well as his in-laws Ted and Irene Lenius.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Dr F.H. Wigmore Hospital and the Pioneer Lodge palliative care unit in Moose Jaw for all their care and support. Donations can be made to Heartland Hospice, Box 334, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan S6H 4N9.
