Jean Alice Barber (Miller)
October 24, 1935 - October 15, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Jean. Jean Alice Barber (Miller) passed away peacefully with her sister Marg & Pat by her side on Friday October 15, 2021, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK. Jean was born October 24, 1935, to George & Bessie Miller. She attended school in Drinkwater, SK and went to Moose Jaw in 1952 to work at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. She married Ken Barber in September 1956. Their son Clayton was born in 1958. Through a fair amount of illness, she worked as a single mom with help from family and friends. Through the years she worked and was highly thought of by the people she worked for doing housework. Jean was a meticulous worker in her profession. She was very fond of her nieces and nephews and became known as the aunt who sent everyone a birthday card. Jean was predeceased by her husband Ken, her parents George & Bessie Miller, brother Ken, Jim & baby William, her sister Edith Bourget, brother-in-law Murrell Fearn, Wilf Bourget, August Fischer and Jim Kaip, sister-in-law Ann Parker, nephew Dale Fischer, niece Lynne Cook. Jean leaves behind her beloved son, Clayton (Shelly), grandsons Kris (Shelley), Devan (Tracy) McDonald, grandchildren Brooks, Jeada, Ben, Brinley and brothers, her sister Margaret Fischer and Pat Kaip, her sister-in-law Deana Miller and numerous nieces & nephews. Special thanks to Mariam & staff at Marcy's Care Home for all their care and attention the last year and half, the doctors & nurses at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. Thank you Mariam for your gracious support and care during Jean's final days. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Jones-Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw.
