ARMSTRONG

Edward "Ed" Carl Armstrong of Moose Jaw passed away Friday, January 17,2020 in hospital after a lengthy illness, with his niece Brenda by his side. Ed was born in Moose Jaw, August 22, 1945 the youngest of 16 children. Ed’s main occupation was that of a truck driver for Moose Jaw Cartage and Storage.  Ed lived with his parents Richard and Tillie and brother Cecil until he purchased his own acreage in the RM of Moose Jaw No 161. His parents and brother moved with him to that acreage. Ed eventually became a loving caregiver to his Mom and Dad until they  passed and the two brothers Ed and Cecil continued to work and live together. When Cecil became ill Ed automatically assumed the caregiver roll once again until his brothers’ death. Ed continued to live on his acreage loving the open spaces, tending to his garden with the peacefulness of nature all around. Eventually Ed became too sick to stay on his beloved acreage and moved to Victoria Towers, in Moose Jaw. Although he was sick for many years, it was his nature to be kind, gentle and giving to others. Ed is predeceased by 9 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be sadly missed by his brother, Albert; and his 2 sisters, Cecilia and Annie, all in the province of Alberta; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed had a very special relationship with his sister, Evelyn (Gruell), her husband John and their five children; Brian, Brenda, Barry, Bernie and Bentley.
