BALTIMORE — The Mississauga MetroStars fell well short in their Major Arena Soccer League debut, dropping an 11-3 decision against the Baltimore Blast on Saturday night.

The three-time reigning MASL champion Blast never trailed after jumping out a 3-0 lead in the first quarter.

Former Toronto FC players Dwayne De Rosario, with two goals, and Mo Babouli scored for Mississauga.

Vini Dantas, Jon Orlando, Adriano Dos Santos and Daniel Peruzzi led the Blast with two goals apiece.

The MetroStars play their home opener on Dec. 8 against the Florida Tropics at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

The MetroStars are the third pro indoor soccer team to give the sport a shot in the Greater Toronto Area. The Toronto Shooting Stars and Toronto ThunderHawks each lasted one season.
