Zack Fry will get the start at left guard in place of Trevon Tate against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without wide receiver Samuel Emilus and defensive back Tevaughn Campbell for their Week 6 Canadian Football League meeting against the Calgary Stampeders.

The Riders had hoped the bye week would be enough for Emilus to have recovered from a foot injury suffered in Week 2 against Hamilton, and he saw limited action in practice this past week. Saskatchewan opted to give Emilus another week of recovery, meaning KeeSean Johnson, Dohnte Meyers and Dhel Duncan Busby will see the majority of action at slotback.

The news also wasn’t good for defensive back Tevaughn Campbell, who was ruled out of action with a groin injury. Antoine Brooks Jr. will start at cornerback in his place.

Ka’Deem Carey will serve as A.J. Ouellette’s back-up at running back with Thomas Bertrand Hudon on the six-game injured list with a thigh injury.

Offensive lineman Trevon Tate is also on the six-game list with a shoulder injury, with Zack Fry taking over at left guard. Langenburg product Noah Zerr slots in as a back-up on the offensive line off the practice roster.

As expected, starting quarterback Trevor Harris makes his return to the line-up after missing last week’s game with a head injury and illness, and will be backed up by Jack Maier and Tommy Stevens.

Albert Awachie makes his first appearance of the season at fullback after recovering from a hip injury.

Saskatchewan hosts the Stampeders on Friday and be sure to catch the pre-game show with Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk, and Wes Cates at 4 p.m. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder have the game call at 7 p.m. You can hear and watch all the extensive coverage on the 620 CKRM Co-operators Rider Broadcast Network.
