The Vanier Vikings will be one of three local teams in action during the Moose Jaw Invitational girls basketball tournament this weekend
Some of the top high school girls basketball teams from throughout Saskatchewan will descend on Moose Jaw beginning this evening for the 2020 Moose Jaw Invitational tournament.

Action in the 16-team event gets underway Thursday night, with the Peacock Toilers taking on the Melville Millionaires and Vanier Spirits battling the Estevan Elecs at 6:30 p.m. at Peacock. The Central Cyclones open their half of the draw against Middle Lake at 8 p.m. at Central.

Other first round contests on Thursday will feature Melfort vs. Lumsden and Swift Current vs. Weyburn, with both games at 8 p.m. at Peacock.

Action continues Friday afternoon with Regina O’Neill vs. Prince Albert Carlton (3 p.m., Peacock), North Battleford Comp vs. Yorkton Regional (3 p.m., Central), Regina Sheldon Williams vs. Meadow Lake (3 p.m., Central).

Tournament action continues all day Saturday, with the consolation final at 6 p.m. and gold medal game at 7:30 p.m., with both contests at Peacock.
