The Moose Jaw Warriors have just five home games remaining in the 2019-20 regular season and the team plans on going out with a bang at Mosaic Place.

The Warriors have five special nights planned over the final five games, starting with the annual Snowbirds Night on Friday, Mar. 6 when the Warriors welcome in the Winnipeg Ice.

"It’s a night that hits home for Moose Jaw," said Hayley Rushinko, the Warriors’ manager of special events and hockey programs.

The Warriors will be wearing special edition jerseys for the night honouring their long partnership with the Snowbirds and celebrating the air demonstration team’s 50th anniversary.

The jerseys will be auctioned off through a silent auction during the game and fans will have a chance to get the jersey off the players’ back after the game.
Members of the Snowbirds squadron will be honoured throughout the night at the game, including spending time with the team before the game.

The next night on tap will be Morty’s birthday on Tuesday, Mar. 10 when the Warriors take on the Saskatoon Blades.

"Morty’s everyone’s favourite mascot and the best mascot in the WHL, it’s kids, adults and everyone alike are big fans of Morty, so we give him one game a season to feel special," Rushinko said.

There will be cake in the Kids Zone and Morty’s friends from around the city have also been invited to come celebrate his birthday.

Morty will also be signing autographs after the game on Tuesday.

"After the game, he’ll be up there signing autographs and getting pictures with kids that didn’t get the chance during the game to have that moment," Rushinko said.

If that game is all about Morty, the next home game will be all about the fans. When the Warriors host the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday, Mar. 14, it will be 'Fan Appreciation Night' at Mosaic Place.

"We’re going to be blowing prizes out," Rushinko said. "From the moment you walk in, we’ll have stuff right on those front tables, we’ll be giving fans prizes throughout the night — something to take home or an experience you can win — we just want to give fans a huge thank you for all their support this year."

The Warriors will be hoping to have the luck of the Irish on Tuesday, Mar. 17 as the team prepares to host the Winnipeg Ice for St. Patrick’s Day.

"We encourage people to wear green, if you’re wearing green, you’ll automatically be entered into a prize as soon as you walk in," Rushinko said.

Green beer will be available for fans at Mosaic Place that night and it is also the last 'Two-for-Tuesday,' which means two-for-one tickets as well as great deals at concessions.

Finally, the Warriors wrap up their 2019-20 home schedule with Yara Awards Night where the top performers from this year’s team will be honoured by the organization before the game on Saturday, Mar. 21.

"This is a night that we take to honour our guys that have been on the ice all season," Rushinko said.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for Awards Night and fans are asked to be in their seats early for the awards ceremony, which starts at 6:40 p.m.

The Warriors are offering special ticket pricing for the final five home games, fans can check out the games for $55, students are $45 and kids tickets are $25 when purchased with an adult package. Contact the Warriors’ office for more information.

The 50/50 for the final home game of the season will start at a minimum $10,000.
