Express, Red Sox rained out in Regina

Game to be resumed Aug. 2; Pack the Park Night aims to set new attendance record
The Moose Jaw Miller Express and Regina Red Sox tried to get their Western Canadian Baseball League contest in the books on Thursday night, but Mother Nature had other ideas.

A steady drizzle turned into pouring rain in the second inning, resulting in the contest being postponed with Moose Jaw holding a 2-1 lead heading into the third.

The contest will be resumed on Aug. 2 when the two teams are back at Currie Field for the second game in a home-and-home set. Thursday’s contest will be completed, after which the two teams will play seven innings in the second game.

The Miller Express are currently 22-21 and in fourth place in the Eastern Division.

Next home action for the Express is tonight as they take on the Swift Current 57’s. Game time is 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
