They’re winning blowouts, they’re winning close ones and they’re even coming back and finding ways to win against teams that normally don’t lose leads once they have them.

To say the Moose Jaw AAA Warriors are on a bit of a roll right now is a major understatement.

The Notre Dame Hounds took a 3-1 lead out of the first period in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action in Wilcox on Thursday night, but the Warriors would rally for four goals in the second to take a 6-4 victory.

The win saw the Warriors improved to 25-8-1-0 on the season, good enough for a four-point lead over the Saskatoon Contacts and Regina Pat Canadians atop the league standings. The win was also the fourth in a row for the Tribe since their second-place finish in the Mac’s tournament at the beginning of the month.

Caelan Fitzpatrick got the Warriors on the board only 1:16 into the game, but that would be the last bit of good news for Moose Jaw in the period, as Kevin Anderson, Jhett Larson and Wyatt Hickok all scored for the Notre Dame before the frame was out.

Connor McGrath would get one back on a penalty shot at 9:08 of the second before Chris Otterson tied things up 3-3 with 5:42 remaining. The Hounds would retake the lead on a goal by Trey Funk three minutes later, but Fitzpatrick and Davis Fry closed out the flurry of offensive activity with goals in the final 2:29 of the period.

Parker Douglas added an empty-net goal with 18 seconds remaining.

Chase Coward got the start in goal for the Warriors and turned aside 41 shots, while Jared Picklyk stopped 32 shots for Notre Dame.

The Warriors are back in action this weekend for a two-game set with the Yorkton Maulers, with games at 1:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at Mosaic Place.
