You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.

Homegrown Farmer’s Market

Shop local at the Homegrown Farmer’s Market this Saturday. As usual, the market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Langdon Crescent. You will find all kinds of tasty treats and fresh produce. This week, as part of Native Prairie Appreciation Week, you can pick up free native wildflower seeds, courtesy of the Saskatchewan Prairie Conservation Action Plan. 

Gravelbourg’s Summer Solstice

Head to Gravelbourg this weekend for their 19th annual Summer Solstice. A parade will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a street fair and children’s carnival. There will be live music starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday there will be supper and entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. at the cultural centre. There will be lots to see and do, so don’t miss out!

Tai Chi in Crescent Park

Stop by beautiful Crescent Park and relax. On Saturday at 10 a.m. outside the Public Library the Moose Jaw Chinese Association will host a free tai chi class. No experience necessary. Simply wear some comfortable clothing and stop by.

Windscape Kite Festival

Feel like taking a road trip? Looking for a family event that isn’t the Hometown Fair? Consider driving to Swift Current for the annual Windscape Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday. There will be noted kite flyers in attendance and there will be lots of fun activities the whole family can enjoy. This includes a bubble station, balloon sculpting, a straw bale maze, face painting, and kite building workshops. There will be lots of food available, or you can bring your own picnic. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.

Cemetery Tours

Explore the city’s history at the Moose Jaw Cemetery. Tourism Moose Jaw will again be conducting tours of the cemetery. You will hear stories about the city’s early years and its residents. Tours will be held on Saturday at 10:30 and again at 11:45 a.m. The cost is $7.50 per person.

Moose Jaw Hometown Fair

The annual Hometown Fair will continue on Saturday and Sunday. The midway will be open from noon to midnight on Saturday and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Enjoy the rides, take in the entertainment, try your luck at the games, or just go for the food! Children six and under get in for free, while gate admission is $8 for students/seniors and $12 for adults.

Summer Kickoff at the Library

The Moose Jaw Public Library is gearing up for the summer and it all starts this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Crescent Park beside the library. There will be fun and games for the kids, including a visit from the Saskatchewan Science Centre! This will be your first chance to sign up for the TD Summer Reading Club, where you can win fabulous prizes! The Reading Club allows anyone to participate, including kids, teens, and adults! A free, all-ages viewing of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will be held in the library theatre beginning at 2:30 p.m. Stop by to get in on the fun!

Soul Tour

Chill out this weekend at the Soul Tour. This wellness festival will broken into two sessions, from 2 to 6 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on the roof of the Grant Hall. The one-day event will include yoga, meditation, motivational speakers, live music, live art, and a DJ. Tickets are $55 each and get you into both sessions. Miller Express vs. Melville

Take in a Sunday matinee at the ball park! The Miller Express will host the Melville Millionaires on Sunday at Ross Wells Park. The game will start at 4:05 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
