You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw and area this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.

Homegrown Farmer’s Market

Shop local at the Homegrown Farmer’s Market this Saturday. As usual, the market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Langdon Crescent. You will find all kinds of tasty treats, homemade items, and fresh produce. 

Sidewalk Days

Saturday will be your last opportunity to take in everything that Sidewalk Days has to offer. In addition to the dozens of booths and food vendors, there will be lots of entertainment. Be sure to stop by the entertainment stages at John’s Music and the Grant Hall. On Saturday the Uncoolas will perform at the Grant Hall Stage at 2 p.m. and The Angry District will wrap up the fun at the John’s Music Stage with a 4 p.m. performance. Of course, there is also the children’s area that will keep families busy. Sidewalk Days will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the Sidewalk Days Facebook page for more information.

Saskatchewan Air Show

The Air Show is back after 14 years, so don’t miss out! The Saskatchewan Air Show will be held at 15 Wing on Saturday and Sunday. The gates will open at 9 a.m. on both days and close at 6 p.m. There will be a kid’s area, a beer garden, plenty of food vendors, static displays and, of course, lots of top-notch aerial performers. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to see the Snowbirds perform at home! A schedule of performances is available on the event’s website. Don’t forget — the city will be providing free transit if you need a safe ride home. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online.

Historic Places Day

Saturday, July 6 is Historic Places Day. The day is an initiative of the National Trust for Canada. Historic locations across the country will be open for visitors to check out. Locally, the Moose Jaw Public Library will be holding free tours from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 2 p.m. No registration is required — simply show up! It will be a tremendous opportunity to learn more about one of Moose Jaw’s most beloved buildings. Call the library at 306-692-2787 for more information.

Run to Besant Car & Motorcycle Show and Shine

Head out to Besant Park on Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. for the Run to Besant Car & Motorcycle Show and Shine. There will be lots of classic vehicles on display. Awards will be handed out, including Best of Show and People’s Choice. Registration for entries runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $20/entry. Entry for guests is free. A full concession will be available. Proceeds from the event will go to Hunger in Moose Jaw. 

Duck Derby

The Moose Jaw Early Bird Lions Club will hold their annual Duck Derby in Crescent Park on Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m. Lots of great prizes will be handed out. Don’t have a ticket? You can still stop by and watch. Kids may even have an opportunity to grab one of the lucky ducks out of the water. Music will be provided by the Band City Band. Be sure to stop on by!
