You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw and area this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.

Short Films at the WDM

The Western Development Museum will be showing several short NFB films over the next week. You can catch the films as part of your regular admission to the Western Development Museum on either Saturday or Sunday this weekend. The films will be shown during the museum’s regular operating hours, which are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A Christmas Long Ago

The Western Development Museum is offering guests a look at what Christmas was like back in 1910. Learn how families prepared for the holidays and how homes were decorated. The program will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. Regular museum admission applies. Contact the WDM for more information at 306-693-5989.

The “Mean One” Fundraiser

“The Mean One” himself will be in Moose Jaw this Saturday. You will have an opportunity to grab a photo with everyone’s favourite Grinch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sportsman Centre. You must have a ticket to attend. Call 306-692-2717 for more information. The event will raise funds for Wakamow’s Junior Naturalist program.

General Meeting at the Legion

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 59 will hold a general meeting on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. All Legion members are encouraged to attend. The new executive will be sworn in and years of service pins will be awarded to all those who qualify.

Pride Winter Potluck

Moose Jaw Pride will hold a Winter Potluck this Saturday at the Moose Jaw Pride office (345 Main St. North). The fun will start at 2 p.m. will a social. The food will be served at 4 p.m. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy will be provided. Call 306-692-3388 for more information.

Ethan Brentnell Concert

Moose Jaw’s Ethan Brentnell will return to The Friendly City this Saturday for a special concert. Brentnell will be backed by a full band and will perform several holiday favourites. The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery’s theatre. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The cost is $20 for adults and $12 for kids.

Films for Friends

Moose Jaw Families for Change will once again offer its popular Films for Friends series this Sunday. You’re invited to a screening of Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre at 1 p.m. The cost is $5 and includes popcorn. Proceeds will go to the Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre.
