You will find lots of fun activities in Moose Jaw this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.
Spring Craft Sale
Central Lutheran Church will host a spring craft sale on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will find just about anything you are looking for, including spices, sauces, jewelry, food storage, and other handmade items. Proceeds will go to the church’s Refugee Sponsorship Fund.
Free to Be Me Garage Sale
The Free to Be Me Animal Sanctuary will be hosting a garage sale this weekend. Funds will support the sanctuary so they can continue to care for their many animals. There will be a wide range of treasures for purchase! Tours of the farm will not be available, but for a small donation you will be able to view the animals from the fence. Movie Matinee at the Library
Looking for something the whole family can do on Saturday? Stop by the Moose Jaw Public Library theatre for a screening of the 1992 animated classic, Aladdin. Watch the original film before the live action remake hits theatres next month. This family-friendly event is free of charge and there is no registration required. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The show starts at 2:30 p.m.
What Women Want
The popular What Women Want trade show will return to Mosaic Place this weekend. The show will be held Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. and again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be lots of local businesses on hand. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased online.
The Last Five Years
The Moose Jaw Community Players will present The Last Five Years on Saturday. The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Cultural Centre. It is a musical tale about two New Yorkers who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Be sure to get out and support live theatre! Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased through the Cultural Centre box office.
Films for Friends
Stop by the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre this Sunday for another entry in the popular Films for Friends series. This week’s film is the 2016 animated hit, Sing. The show starts at 1 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, which includes popcorn. Proceeds will support Running Wild Rescue. Contact Moose Jaw Families for Change to register. It will be fun for the whole family!
Town Hall Meeting
Both the Cosmo Senior Citizen’s Centre and the Moose Jaw & District Senior Citizens Association are struggling financially. The two groups will hold a town hall meeting this Sunday at the Cosmo Centre at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to provide much-needed input on the future of these organizations. Stop by and have your voice heard!
Elks Chili Challenge
Feeling hungry? Looking for something spicy? The Elks will host their annual Chili Challenge on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Legion hall. Admission is just $10 and that comes with all the chili you can eat! Awards will be handed out to the best chefs. There will also be a silent auction and a 50-50 draw. All proceeds will help the Elks support local charities and groups.
Chinese Fortune Supper
Minto United Church will host their annual Chinese Fortune Supper on Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each. The menu includes egg rolls, chicken fried rice, chicken chop suey, sweet and sour chicken balls, Chinese donuts, and beverages. Doors open at 5:30. For tickets, call Linda at 306-694-1209.
