At approximately 1:08 p.m. on the evening of March 16, the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) responded to the report of a house fire on the 1000 block of Willow Avenue.
A 23-year-old male was the only reported occupant of the house at the time of the fire, and police have confirmed that he was able to make it out of the building safely.
After an on-scene assessment, the male was treated for minor smoke inhalation and was transported to the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital by EMS.
The affected residential home suffered an estimated $270,000 in damages.
In addition, the home adjacent to the structure also suffered severe damage from the fire with a yet to be determined estimate for this damage.
The Canadian Red Cross is now supplying supports for both families affected by the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under police investigation. The MJPS has stated that the fire is not currently deemed to be suspicious.
