Then it all caught up to them at once.
The Hitmen scored four goals in the second period, building a 5-0 lead before the Warriors were able to get on the board and going on to a 7-2 victory.
Carson Focht gave Calgary a 1-0 lead out of the first after scoring only 41 seconds into the game, at it was there the score would remain until Riley Fiddler-Schultz put the Hitmen ahead 2-0 at the 4:41 mark of the second.
Cael Zimmerman, Mark Kastelic and Adam Kydd all added single markers over the next nine minutes to give Calgary their commanding lead.
Ryder Korczak got the Warriors on the board with a power play marker with 2:39 to play in the second and was followed 1:58 later by Brayden Tracey with a second man-advantage goal to pull Moose Jaw within three.
The Tribe would get no closer, though, as Josh Prokop put Calgary back up by four 1:25 into the third before Evan Toth closed out scoring with 5:26 left in the game.
One night after a 46-save shutout performance in Red Deer, Warriors goaltender Adam Evanoff would allow six goals on 29 shots before giving way to Jackson Berry after Prokop’s marker. Berry would make nine stops the rest of the way.
Brayden Peters was far less busy in the Calgary net, turning aside 16 shots.
The Warriors now hold an 11-22-2-0 record, sitting three points ahead of last place Swift Current in the Eastern Conference, three points back of the Regina Pats and 15 points out of the final wild card playoff spot.
The Warriors are back in action Wednesday when they host the Western Hockey League-leading Edmonton Oil Kings. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
