CENTRAL BUTTE — The Riverhurst Lions Club sponsored a Walk for Dog Guides in Central Butte on May 25.
Lion Norm Fedrau and his dog guide Eddy led the eight walkers to raise a total of $10,743 in donations.
Since 1985 the Pet Valu Walk for Guide Dogs has been held across Canada, and Lion Norm has participated since 1999, and Lion Pat Gall since 1997. Faye Molsberry canvasses locally and all the walkers bring donation sheets filled with monetary support.
Through sponsorship, 100 per cent of donations go directly to the seven dog guide programs: Canine Vision, Seizure Response, Autism Assistance, Diabetes Alert, Hearing, Facility Support and Service Dogs.
