Moose Jaw, Regina police bring major response in clearing pair of residences after firearms report

A situation involving firearms in Regina ended up drawing a major law enforcement response in Moose Jaw on Saturday afternoon.

Regina police responded to multiple calls involving firearms in the Queen City on Friday night and ended up tracking a suspect vehicle into Moose Jaw. At around 12 p.m., Moose Jaw Police Service and Regina police responded with a major show of force, deploying SWAT and K-9 teams in order to clear a pair of residences, one of which was located on the 600 block of Ominica Street East.

Photos and reports from the site indicate an armoured vehicle was used in the law enforcement action.

The matter is still under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
