Sidewalk Days underway with plenty to see and do on Main Street

Nine blocks of fun in the sun set to continues all day Friday and Saturday in downtown Moose Jaw

Moose Jaw Kinsmen Sidewalk Days might only have been up and running for a handful of hours on Thursday afternoon, but it was already plenty apparent that the annual Main Street celebration is going to be a good one.

Tons of vendors, plenty to eat and drink, lots of music and all sorts of activities for the whole family brought thousands of people to downtown Moose Jaw throughout the day, with folks enjoying all there was to see and do under a warm summer sun.

The best part?

The event continues throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, with beautiful weather expected to continue throughout the weekend.

Visitors to Sidewalks Days will find more than 200 vendors selling all sorts of wares, while even offering face painting, henna tattoos, hair weaving and other fun stuff.

If you’re looking for something to chow down on, one of the 34 food vendors will probably have you covered, with fare ranging from ice cream to Asian delicacies to the always-popular barbecue feasts.

Folks can take part in the Canadian Tire Sidewalk Days Scavenger Hunt by following along with the list at www.tourismmoosejaw.com/swd-scavenger-hunt and enter a draw for cash and prizes.

There’s also no shortage of entertainment at the two main stages on Main Street.

Thursday features Trick Ryder as the closing act on the Grant Hall Main Stage, with Tequila Mockingbird closing things out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Both stages will feature performances all day Friday and Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.

Saturday will also feature a Battle of the Bands beginning at 1:30 p.m. on the main stage,  with the winner announced later in the afternoon and playing a set at 4 p.m.

Moose Jaw Kinsmen Sidewalk Days runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
