Update: City crews have cleared the blockage.

A 24-inch major sanitary sewer trunk on Manitoba St. is blocked and is impacting sewage service to a majority of the north half of the City of Moose Jaw.

City crews have responded to the blockage and are working to resolve the issue.

To reduce the risk of sewer backups, the City is asking all residents and businesses north of Manitoba St. and south of Thatcher Drive, plus those in the Iron Bridge subdivision, to greatly minimize water use that would impact the sanitary sewer, including:

- Flushing the toilet.
- Showering or bathing.
- Washing clothes.
- Washing dishes/using dishwasher.

Additionally, temporary traffic restrictions may be in place at 2nd NE and Manitoba St. while crews are working.

Further updates will be issued to the City of Moose Jaw website, MooseJaw.ca and the free City of Moose Jaw app as conditions change
