Now it will be even easier to stay connected or stream the latest movies and TV shows for SaskTel's rural internet customers.
That is because rural communities will now have access to faster internet speeds. SaskTel has announced the expansion of interNET Extended 25 service to 20 more communities.
Residents and businesses in these communities now have access to download speeds up to 25 Megabits per second (Mbps), which is the fastest SaskTel has ever offered in rural areas.
The communities that will take advantage include:
Big River, Bjorkdale, Brock, Canwood, Caronport, Central Butte, Christopher Lake, Codette, Debden, Elrose, Gravelbourg, Harris, Kyle, Lafleche, Paddockwood, Plenty, Star City, Waskesiu, White Fox, and Willow Bunch.
“Our government understands the importance of having access to fast and reliable internet speeds,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel in a press release. “I am pleased with the progress SaskTel has made in our rural communities to greatly enhance the internet service available to Saskatchewan residents.”
“Our interNET Extended 25 service provides rural customers more bandwidth than ever before,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “This upgraded service will allow better access to vital requirements for businesses to remain competitive and for residents to access important services.”
SaskTel interNET Extended 25 service comes with unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 helpdesk support.
These internet upgrades are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $301 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2018/19 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023.
