SaskPower says that some customers have received text messages claiming a refund will be issued due to overbilling.

Message receipients are then directed to click on a link where you are asked to provide banking information, so the funds can supposedly be transferred.

Please be advised the company does not complete transactions via e-transfer. In a press release, SaskPower reminds customers that they take the confidentiality of personal customer information very seriously. If you have questions or concerns, contact SaskPower at 1-888-757-6937.

If you suspect you have been a victim of fraud, contact your bank immedialy. You should also contact the police, as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
