SaskPower customers will not be disconnected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective immediately, SaskPower is suspending active collections and will defer disconnecting residential customers for failing to pay their bills.

“The health and safety of our employees and customers is SaskPower’s top priority,” said Shawn Schmidt, SaskPower vice-president, distribution and customer services, in a press release. “We know the impact of the current pandemic can affect household finances, and that is why we are taking these measures today.”

If your power has already been disconnected, or if you have a load limiter on your residence, call SaskPower at 1-888-757-6937 to be reconnected or to have the limiter removed.

Flexible payment arrangements will continue to be available. SaskPower adds that all customers will ultimately be responsible to pay for the power they use.

More information is available on SaskPower’s website.
