Saskatchewan reports 15th COVID-19 death, 1 new case

Another Saskatchewan resident has died due to COVID-19. This individual was from the North and in their 20s. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 15.

There is one new case of COVID-19 to report as of July 7. The new case is a Saskatoon resident who was tested out of province. 

There are now 806 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan. There are 54 active cases, including nine active cases in the South region.  

Four people are in hospital receiving inpatient care — three in the North and one in Saskatoon.  

Another five people have recovered. There are now 737 total recoveries. 

Of the 806 cases in the province:

  • 168 cases are travellers;
  • 482 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 113 have no known exposures; and
  • 43 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level, 338 of the cases are from the Far North, 190 are from the Saskatoon area, 119 from the North, 80 from the Regina area, 66 from the South, and 13 from the Central region.

A total of 70,294 COVID‐19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
