Robbie Burns Night being recorded tonight, online as early as Friday

Event being staged by St. Andrews Church, to feature celebration of legendary Scottish bard
Robbie Burns
St. Andrew’s Church will be recording Robbie Burns Night this evening.

Fans of all things Scottish will have a chance to check out Moose Jaw's version of Robbie Burns Night online this weekend.

The annual event was forced to make wholesale changes to their plans this year, with the ongoing pandemic preventing a large gathering in honour of the legendary bard.

Instead, participants in the show have joined forces with St. Andrews United Church and will be putting together an online production, which will be hosted on the church’s Facebook page.

The taping will take place Thursday evening and will feature the traditional ceremony, pomp and circumstance surrounding Robbie Burns Night, including the always popular Toast to the Haggis. The event will also feature musical performances and the traditional toasts featured at the Night in the past.

St. Andrew’s Reverend Jim Tenford will edit the production into a neat package and the show is expected to be posted as early as Friday.

Be sure to check the St. Andrew’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/StAndrewsUnitedChurchMooseJaw this weekend for updates and to catch the whole show!
