Resident Patricia Martynook will return for one more term to the Regina Airport Authority’s board of directors after no other Moose Javian stepped forward to represent the community.

During its March 23 regular meeting, city council voted unanimously to re-appoint Martynook to the board of directors, with her term of office to commence on May 1 and conclude on April 30, 2023, or until a successor is appointed.

Martynook would have been re-appointed to the board sooner, but during its Jan. 27 regular meeting, council approved a motion to have city administration look for nominees from within the community to sit on the board. The city clerk’s office issued a call for nominations in the Feb. 12 issue of the Moose Jaw Express, and through the municipality’s website and social media accounts.

The deadline for applications was Feb. 24. The only application received for appointment was from Martynook.

The Regina Airport Authority was notified of the appointment on March 24.

The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13, but that could change due to the pandemic.
