Beginning March 18, the pilot drive-through vaccination site in Regina is now open to any residents aged 60-69 seeking their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority made the decision to expand eligibility to the clinic following a change to the national guidelines regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has now been cleared to be offered to residents over the age of 65.
The drive-through vaccine site is still open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and operates on a first-come first-serve basis. Wait times can be found online through the SHA’s website, updated hourly, or by tuning to radio station 107.5FM.
Only individuals aged 60-69 on the day of immunization may receive a vaccine from the drive-through clinic at this time.
Public health is encouraging residents aged 67 or older to book their appointments through the mass immunizations clinic, which is delivering doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Appointments can be booked either online or by calling the Vaccine Call Centre.
