Now you can have your say on the future of education in Saskatchewan.

The government is seeking public input on the province's education system and have launched an online survey.

“We want to hear from students, parents, educators, and school staff to better understand what they want for the future of education,” Deputy Premier and Education Minister Gordon Wyant said in a press release. “The new provincial education plan will ensure that our schools are on the right path to meet the needs of students as we look toward the next decade.”

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with education partners, are creating a provincial education plan that will guide Saskatchewan education for years to come.

An engagement process began in October 2018. As engagement sessions with education partners occur, school divisions are also creating opportunities for parents and students to participate in-person. Meanwhile, Saskatchewan residents can provide feedback through an online survey.

There are different versions of the survey for students and non-students. Students are asked questions about what helps them learn at school, what have they learned that will prove useful after graduation, etc. Questions for non-students focus on what students need to learn in schools, what is working well, and what needs to change.

Responses will be used to help develop the provincial education plan.

The online survey is now open, and the public will be able to provide input until May 3. Paper copies of the survey are also available.
