Premier Moe tops approval ratings

Premier Scott Moe has the highest approval rating in Canada, according to the latest Angus Reid poll.

Moe has a 65 per cent approval rating, which represents at six-point increase from the last quarter. His rating has increased steadily over the last year — 52 per cent in March 2018, 57 per cent in December, and 59 per cent in March of this year.

Just 29 per cent of respondents said they disapproved of Moe, with six per cent responding they were unsure.

Quebec’s Francois Legault has the second-highest rating at 62 per cent. That is followed by Alberta’s Jason Kenney at 61 per cent, New Brunswick’s Blaine Higgs at 53 per cent, and British Columbia’s John Horgan at 52 per cent.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has just a 36 per cent approval rating. The only provincial leaders with a lower rating is Nova Scotia’s Stephen McNeill at just 16 per cent.

As Angus Reid notes, five of the most popular premiers have been in charge for less than two years.
