Police tactical unit helps arrest man for firearms offences

The Moose Jaw Police Service’s tactical response team executed a search warrant at a home on the 1000 block of Fairford Street East on Sept. 7 and arrested Chad Gienow of Moose Jaw.

Based on an investigation, police charged Gienow, 37, with three counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition, and one count of careless use of a firearm. Gienow was also charged with one count of possession of a schedule 1 substance and one count of mischief under $5,000.

A judge has remanded Gienow into custody. Meanwhile, police investigations continue.
