Counterfeit money is being circulated in Moose Jaw.
Since February, the Moose Jaw Police Service has received several calls related to the use of counterfeit $100 American bills. The money is exchanged when ordering food.
The police say the suspect calls local restaurants for food delivery. This individual will often use an app-based service with an out of province phone number.
The suspect requests the delivery be made to a parking lot, alley, or on the street in front of a residence.
After obtaining the food, the suspect then allegedly pays in counterfeit currency. They then receive real money in change.
The police remind the public that the possession, use, and creation of counterfeit currency is illegal in Canada.
