This holiday season, be sure to plan a safe road home.

The focus on December’s Traffic Safety Spotlight is on impaired driving. Last year, police reported 352 impaired driving offences during the month of December, including 306 Criminal Code charges.

According to SGI, impaired driving remains the number one cause of fatal road crashes in the province. If you see a driver you suspect is impaired, pull over and call 911 to make a report. Be sure to provide as many details as possible.

Saskatchewan has strict impaired driving laws. Penalties can include vehicle seizures and licence suspension.

More information on impaired driving offences are available on SGI's website.
