Police blocked off Third Avenue Northwest between High and Fairford streets late this afternoon as they arrested two men.

Six police vehicles were on the scene, with two vehicles blocking the High Street entrance and one blocking the Fairford Street entrance. Nearly a dozen cops were on hand to arrest the individuals; when the Express arrived on scene, police had already arrested one man and put him in the back of a cruiser, while at least six other officers were needed to arrest the second person.

While attempting to make the arrest, the accused was heard to shout several times, "I can't breathe," "I haven't done anything wrong," and "Leave me alone." He also swore at officers regularly.

Officers finally brought the man under control and dragged him to the cruiser, where they searched him before putting him into the car.

Police also took two bicycles on scene and placed them into the back of a truck.

The Express will have more information about the situation when it becomes available.
