Two people are facing firearm- and drug-related offences after the Moose Jaw Police Service executed a search warrant recently.

On April 22, members of the MJPS’s Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) and tactical response team (TRT) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of Ninth Avenue Northeast. There, police arrested one male and one female without incident.

The search yielded cocaine, drug paraphernalia, numerous bladed weapons, several replica firearms, and roughly $1,700 in Canadian currency. Police also located stolen property within the residence.

As a result of this investigation, Jason Carey, 43, and Teanika Trew-Gawley, 28, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and other Criminal Code offences.

Both made their first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on April 23 and were remanded to the Regina Correctional Centre.
