Saskatchewan is back down to a one-digit increase in new COVID-19 cases in the province, with one new case confirmed for a total of 366 cases.

Seventy cases are considered active at this time, and eight individuals are in hospital.

Three more people have recovered, for a provincial total of 291 recoveries.

Of the total 366 cases in the province, 138 are travel-related, 150 are community or household transmission related, 35 have no known exposures, and 43 are still under investigation by Public Health.

On a regional level, 150 of the cases are from the Saskatoon area, 75 from the Regina area, 69 from the north, 15 from the south, 11 from the central region, and 46 from the far north.

There have been five fatalities related to COVID-19 in the province, with the last reported on April 27.

Saskatchewan has preformed 28,632 COVID-19 tests. National data from the Public Health Agency of Canada released earlier this week shows that the per capita rate of testing in the province was 22,684 per million population, exceeding the national rate of 19,087 per million population.

Public health officials ask residents to continue taking measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, even when the re-opening measures begin to take place. This includes limiting gatherings, practising physical distancing, continuously disinfecting communal surfaces, and keeping social contact with a designated household group.

Please be aware there is a Public Health Order restricting all non-essential travel into and out of northern Saskatchewan, specifically the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District.
